Carmichael is only about 12 minutes from our Auburn Blvd shop, so we're a convenient stop for windshield work. The neighborhood's east-west streets and Fair Oaks Blvd mean the rising and setting sun lines up straight with your windshield — the largest, most heat-prone piece of glass on the car. We focus on windshield-specific treatments that cut that low glare and cabin heat while keeping your forward view clear and fully legal in California.
For the full windshield we install a clear, high-VLT ceramic IR film. Because it stays near-clear, it passes California's visible-light requirement with room to spare while rejecting solar heat and blocking 99% of UV. That means a cooler cabin near the river and far less squinting when the morning or evening sun runs down Carmichael's east-west roads. The Encore Supreme IR film is non-metallic, so it won't interfere with GPS, toll tags, or windshield-mounted driver-assist cameras.
California also allows a tinted strip along the top of the windshield, above the AS-1 line — roughly the top 4-5 inches. We computer-cut that legal top strip to block the direct overhead sun and pair it with the clear IR film for a complete, code-compliant package. Being close by, we make same-day roll-down simple: drop in, and drive away with a cooler, glare-free windshield the same afternoon.
