Commercial Window Tinting in Sacramento: Vehicles Yes, Buildings No

|5 min read|By Quality Window Tinting

Short answer: we tint commercial vehicles — vans, trucks, fleets and company cars — at our shop in Sacramento. We do not tint office, storefront, warehouse or home glass, and we never have. If you are looking for building window film, you need an architectural film contractor rather than an auto shop.

“Commercial window tinting” covers two unrelated trades that happen to share a name. One installs film on the fixed glass of buildings, measured and priced by the square foot. The other tints the glass on vehicles a business owns and runs. Quality Window Tinting has been doing the second of those in Sacramento since 2005, and has never done the first.

Being direct about that is more useful to you than a quote form. Building film is a different trade with different tooling, different film lines and separate manufacturer certifications — an automotive installer taking on a storefront is not a bargain, it is a risk.

What We Do Not Offer

  • Office and storefront flat glass
  • Warehouse and industrial building glass
  • Residential and home windows
  • Security and anti-shatter film for buildings
  • Decorative, frosted and privacy film for interiors
  • Title 24 / building energy-code film work

If that is what you came for, we would rather you find the right contractor quickly than spend a week in our queue. We do not take building enquiries and pass them on.

What We Do Tint for Businesses

Work vans and cargo vans

Sprinter, Transit, ProMaster and similar. Rear and side glass privacy for tools and stock, plus heat control in the cab.

Van & fleet tinting

Pickups and service trucks

Cab glass on single, extended and crew cabs. Factory privacy glass on the rear does not reduce heat — film does.

Truck & SUV tinting

Company cars and pool vehicles

Standard passenger installations, scheduled around your operating hours rather than the driver’s own time.

All services & pricing

Mixed fleets

Sequenced so your business keeps running. Same film, same install, same warranty across every vehicle.

Scheduling a Fleet Without Standing It Down

The practical obstacle with fleet work is not the tinting, it is being short of vehicles while it happens. Most vehicles take 2-4 hours, so several can pass through in a single day. We agree a sequence up front and stagger the vehicles so the ones you need stay on the road.

Fleet vehicles are tinted at the shop, like everything else — an indoor, controlled environment is what makes a clean installation possible, and we do not make exceptions for volume. Our reasoning is set out in full on why we install in-shop.

How Fleet Pricing Works

Commercial vehicles are quoted per vehicle from the same published film tiers as any other vehicle, because price follows glass area and complexity. A cargo van, a crew-cab pickup and a compact company car are three different jobs. Starting prices and the full film range are on our services and pricing page, with the reasoning behind them in the window tinting cost guide.

Prices are starting prices and vary with vehicle complexity and the film chosen. Full vehicle pricing does not include the windshield, which is quoted separately.

Tint Limits Apply to Commercial Vehicles Too

California’s window tint limits do not have a commercial exemption. Front side windows are subject to the statutory light-transmission requirement, and only a strip above the AS-1 line is permitted on the windshield; rear side and rear glass are not restricted by darkness. If a vehicle carries livery or a wrap, we work around it. The detail is in our California window tint law guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you tint office or storefront windows in Sacramento?

No. Quality Window Tinting is an automotive-only shop. We do not install flat glass film on offices, storefronts, warehouses or homes, and we do not quote by the square foot. If you need building glass tinted, you want a commercial glazing or architectural film contractor — a different trade with different equipment, different film lines and different manufacturer certifications. We would rather tell you that now than take the enquiry and hand it off.

What commercial work do you actually do?

Vehicles. Work vans, box trucks, pickups, service vehicles and company cars are all tinted at our shop at 4847 Auburn Blvd Unit B. That includes multi-vehicle fleets, which we schedule in sequence so a business is never without all of its vehicles at once. It is the same installation, film and warranty as any private vehicle.

How do you schedule a fleet so we stay operational?

We stagger them. Rather than booking your whole fleet into one week, we agree a sequence that keeps the vehicles you need on the road while the others are in the shop. Most vehicles take 2-4 hours, so several can move through in a day. Call (916) 282-2577 with your vehicle count and types and we will build the schedule around your operating hours.

Why does fleet tinting get quoted per vehicle rather than per job?

Because price follows the glass, not the invoice. A cargo van, a crew-cab pickup and a compact company car have different glass areas and different complexity, so a flat per-vehicle figure across a mixed fleet would overcharge some and undercharge others. Our pricing starts from the same published film tiers as any other vehicle and varies with vehicle complexity and film chosen.

Is there a legal limit on tint for commercial vehicles in California?

The same California limits apply to commercial vehicles as to passenger vehicles: front side windows must let in enough light to meet the statutory requirement, and only a strip above the AS-1 line is permitted on the windshield. Rear side and rear windows are not restricted by darkness. If your vehicles carry livery or wrap, we will work around it. See our California window tint law guide for the detail.
