Avery Dennison Encore Window Film: Full Spec Sheet

By Andrey, Owner & Lead InstallerPublished 6 min read

Quick answer

This page reproduces every row of the Avery Dennison Encore Automotive Window Films PDS — all three tiers, every shade, VLT and the three solar-rejection measurements (TSER, IRER, SIRR). Numbers are transcribed verbatim from the published Rev. 01 (2025-09-03) data sheet. UV rejection across all tiers is >99%. The manufacturer warranty is “Lifetime to Original owner of Vehicle - Non Transferable”.

Key takeaways

  • VLT — Visible Light Transmittance. How much visible light passes through the film. California law requires 70% VLT minimum on front side windows.
  • TSER — Total Solar Energy Rejected across the full spectrum. The honest heat-performance number.
  • IRER — Infrared Energy Rejection across the full 780–2500 nm band. Always higher than TSER.
  • SIRR — Selective Infrared Rejection across a narrow band (around 900–1000 nm). Always the largest figure, most often misquoted as “heat rejection”.
  • All three solar-rejection numbers describe the same film at the same shade. They are not alternatives — they are three different measurements of the same product.

Encore Supreme IR

Multi-layer spectrally-selective ceramic. Highest IR rejection in the Encore family, carried across every VLT. For vehicles kept outdoors in Sacramento Valley heat, or any EV where cabin heat drives AC load and range.

Encore Supreme

Single-layer nano-ceramic. The volume ceramic tier and the most popular ceramic film we install. UV-stable, signal-friendly, no purpling. The one most Sacramento drivers end up on.

Encore

Carbon film with color-stable dyes. UV-stable (does not purple), signal-friendly, with meaningful heat rejection at a lower material cost. The value tier.

Methodology and footnote

Source: Avery Dennison Encore Automotive Window Films, Product Data Sheet Rev. 01 (2025-09-03)

Measurement method: NFRC methodology, LBNL Window 5.2, on 1/4" (6mm) clear glass.

UV rejection: >99% across all shades of all tiers.

Manufacturer warranty: “Lifetime to Original owner of Vehicle - Non Transferable”, quoted verbatim from the PDS durability table.

Avery Dennison's own qualification applies to every figure above: performance is calculated on 1/4" (6 mm) clear glass using NFRC methodology and LBNL Window 5.2 software, and is subject to variation within industry standards. These figures describe the film plus a standard glass sample — not a specific vehicle. Your glass, its thickness and its own factory tint will all affect what you actually experience.

How to use this table

If a shop quotes you a specific film and shade, you can look up its exact performance here. If a shop quotes a general range (“ceramic rejects 65% of solar heat”), you can check whether the number applies to the shade they are actually installing. If a competitor advertises “93% heat rejection” on Encore Supreme IR, you can see that 93 is the SIRR column — the honest TSER at any shade in that tier is 52–65.

This page is deliberately a reference, not a sales pitch. The point of publishing the full table is so that no shop in Sacramento has to be taken on faith — not even ours. For a step-by-step guide to the metrics themselves, see our guide to window-tint heat rejection numbers. For a shopping-level view of how the Encore line compares to competitors, see our Avery Dennison installer page.

Bottom line

A quote should state the film name and tier (e.g. “Encore Supreme at 35% VLT”) and should match a row in the table above. Specs quoted without that specificity are marketing. Specs that disagree with the row above have either a different data source or a different story.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Avery Dennison Encore product line?

Encore is the automotive window-film family manufactured by Avery Dennison Graphics Solutions. It covers three tiers — Encore (carbon), Encore Supreme (nano-ceramic), and Encore Supreme IR (multi-layer spectrally-selective ceramic) — each produced in a range of VLT shades suited to different vehicles and legal regimes.

How are the TSER figures measured?

The published figures are calculated using NFRC methodology and LBNL Window 5.2 software, on 1/4-inch (6 mm) clear glass. The result describes the film plus a standard glass sample. Your vehicle's own glass thickness, factory tint and the installation workmanship will all affect the real-world result.

Why does the TSER drop as VLT rises?

A film's heat rejection comes partly from the energy it blocks in the visible-light band and partly from the energy it blocks in the infrared band. A lighter VLT shade lets more visible light through, which means less of the visible slice of solar energy is being rejected. The infrared rejection is roughly constant across the VLT range, so the TSER falls by the proportion of visible light that is now passing.

What is the difference between IRER and SIRR?

IRER is Infrared Energy Rejection across the full 780–2500 nm band — the honest infrared performance figure. SIRR is Selective Infrared Rejection measured across a narrow slice of that band (typically 900–1000 nm). The two differ by 20–30 percentage points on the same film. See our guide on reading these numbers for why.

Does Avery Dennison warrant the Encore line?

Yes. The manufacturer warranty is "Lifetime to Original owner of Vehicle — Non Transferable", quoted verbatim from the Encore PDS durability table. Our shop's own workmanship warranty is separate and does follow the vehicle at resale.

Is the data on this page current?

Yes. Values are transcribed from the Avery Dennison Encore Automotive Window Films Product Data Sheet, Revision 01, dated 2025-09-03, retrieved from graphics.averydennison.com on 2026-08-10. If Avery Dennison publishes a newer revision we will update the figures and the date here.
